Our Executive Function Coaching Process

At EF Compass Coaching, we take a structured, individualized approach to help students
strengthen their executive function skills and set them up for long-term success. Here’s a
breakdown of what to expect during our coaching process:

Inquiry Meeting
We begin with an introductory meeting to learn about your family’s unique needs, goals, and challenges. This allows us to explain how coaching can support your child, answer any questions, and ensure we’re aligned on the approach.
Review and Collaboration
In this phase, we gather key documents such as assessments, IEPs, 504 plans, or any other materials you feel would be helpful. We also offer initial consultations with teachers, mental health professionals, or other providers to ensure a holistic, comprehensive approach to your child’s coaching experience.
Weekly Coaching Sessions
Our one-on-one, weekly sessions focus on developing executive function skills like planning, time management, organization, and goal-setting. Each session is personalized to help your child address specific challenges and achieve their goals. We provide continuous check-ins between sessions to offer accountability, monitor progress, and support task initiation and follow-through.

Family Support and Communication
We believe that parent involvement is key to success. To keep you updated on progress, we send weekly session summaries via email. Additionally, we offer family meetings as needed to discuss progress, share insights, and ensure we’re all aligned in supporting your child’s development.
Phase Out
As your child becomes more confident and independent, we gradually reduce the level of
coaching. The aim is for your child to apply the executive function skills they’ve developed with
minimal ongoing support, empowering them for sustained success in the future.
